Apple will tonight reveal the next iteration of the market-changing iPhone.
It all kicks off at 6pm tonight UK time and the safe money is on the confirmation of two new units – the upgraded iPhone 5S and the new budget-priced iPhone 5C.
The 5S, if rumours are to be believed, will be largely the same as the iPhone 5 with a beefier processor and perhaps a couple of technical additions, such as perhaps fingerprint recognition and an improved camera.
The 5C is arguably the bigger deal. Apple has traditionally resisted competing at lower price brackets, instead favouring to compete in the premium smartphone sector. The 5C, if rumours are correct, represents a change in direction and a willingness to take the iPhone battle to a broader audience.
You can also expect a release date for iOS 7, which could possibly arrive as soon as today
