Italy and Turkey added to Gamescom press tour

A Gamescom press roadshow will head to eight countries this year to promote the trade and consumer event in August.

Italy and Turkey are the newest additions to the 2012 tour, which will consist of press conferences and background discussions with members of the media, trade associations, exhibitors, sales organisations and other trade visitors.

Gamescom is an annual games industry and consumer show that takes place in Cologne, Germany. This year’s show kicks off on Wednesday, August 15th and runs until Sunday, August 19th. The Wednesday is a trade-only day, while consumers will also be allowed in from Thursday, August 16th.

A statement from organiser Koelnmesse read: Koelnmesse and the supporting organisation, the BIU (German Trade Association of Interactive Entertainment Software), will be communicating in the international games industry’s key and growth territories. Gamescom’s new features, as well as trends and innovations in German and international games markets, will be high on the agenda.

The Gamescom team will be supported by the Koelnmesse sales and marketing network which supports exhibitor and trade visitor participation in around 80 countries. In the previous year more than 5,200 media representatives reported about Gamescom worldwide.”
