Jagex launches new multiplayer shooter, gives it away for free for a weekend

Developer Jagex has launched a new game today, and is letting gamers play it for free this weekend.

Anyone that likes the title, can then buy it for 15% off for a week.

The new title is Block N Load, a multiplayer shooter that is available via Steam. The free offer will take place of the weekend.

The new launch follows a difficult period for Jagex, which climaxed in the cancellation of its ambitious MOBA, Transformer’s Universe. The studio has since named named former Codemasters chief Rod Cousens as its CEO.

Our Beta program for Block N Load brought over a hundred thousand players together to build, defend, attack, and destroy – and their videos and reviews of the combat, teamwork and pure creative fun they had in the game really is a core part of future game development and our marketing approach,” says Block N Load’s marketing director Lizzie Wilding.

We’re putting players first and we’re letting the game speak for itself in every channel.”
