Just Dance IP grooves its way to 25m sales

Ubisoft’s powerhouse Just Dance series has now reached the 25m global unit sales barrier.

The IP was propelled through this milestone by the success of Just Dance 3, which itself has now passed the 7m unit sales barrier.

Ubisoft reckons that “people” globally spend a collection 23m minutes playing Just Dance 3 every day.

“The Just Dance franchise continues to be first choice for customers around the world looking for games that let them dance and get the party started in their living rooms,” chief EMEA sales and marketing officer Geoffroy Sardin stated.

“Our diverse dance game offerings ensure that everyone can find an accessible and enjoyable title regardless of platform, and that we have a broad base upon which to bring new ideas and titles in the years to come.”

2011 release Just Dance 3 was the first in the series to arrive on Xbox 360 and PS3, with integrated Kinect and PlayStation Move compatibility.

The franchise has also expanded significantly in the last 12 months with the release of several licensed spin-offs such as Michael Jackson The Experience, The Black Eyed Peas Experience and ABBA You Can Dance.
