Kids market a natural step for Ubis dance range

Ubisoft says expanding to the children’s market was a logical move for its best-selling dance games.

The publisher wants to capture this demographic with the release of Dance Juniors for Wii next month.

The game was previously released in the US as Just Dance Kids, but Ubisoft’s UK team has rebranded the title as part of a new strategy to grow its audience.

Since the success of Just Dance we found that a lot of the players are younger kids,” said brand manager Rachael Grant.

We thought it would be a good idea to create a dance game specifically for these children that featured songs that they liked, such as nursery rhymes and other hits they would recognise.”

Dance Juniors features 40 tunes such as ‘Pop Goes The Weasel’ and ‘Hey Macarena’. It lands at retail on February 4th.
