A year and a half after the beginning of their collaboration, distributor Koch Media and racing games developer and publisher Codemasters announced the renewal of their partnership.
The new deal will see the collaboration carry on for another two years. The details of the agreement will remain the same: this partnership sees Koch Media co-publishing Codemasters’ titles in the Americas and handling the distribution of its games in EMEA territories.
Koch Media CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz commented: "The renewal of our partnership is a prime example that when two independent gaming companies focus on their key strengths, rely on each other’s expertise, and work together in true symbiotic fashion, it can only lead to great success for both parties.”
CEO of Codemasters Frank Sagnier added: "We are delighted to extend our relationship with Koch Media and look forward to strengthening our successful partnership.”
Codemasters and Koch Media had great success last week as F1 2017 (pictured) debuted at No.2 in the UK weekly charts, almost matching the sales of last year’s entry in the racing franchise.Their partnership was first announced back in November 2015.
Koch Media was also recently praised by Shenmue III’s director YuSuzuki, as the company’s publishing arm, Deep Silver, will be bringing the title to market. Talking to MCV@gamescom, he said: I knew they were good when I was working at Sega, who also has business with Koch Media. We had been hunting for partners, and I’d been hearing from other people as well that Koch Media was a publisher we could trust. They have a very good track record as well.”
