Lay-offs issued as part of NCsoft Seattle realignment

NCsoft has confirmed an unspecified number of employees and contractors have been let go from its Seattle offices.

The company, responding to an inquiry by PC Gamer, denied murmurs of the Seattle branch closing entirely, but did reveal several jobs had been cut in a realignment” effort.

NCsoft is realigning internal publishing resources to better suit the needs of our game development studios,” PR director Lincoln Davis said.

As a result of the realignment, several employees and contract positions were affected. This was a very tough decision to make and wish the best for all NCsoft employees in their next ventures.”

The publisher recently shut down MMO City of Heroes and its developer Paragon Studios, despite a player petition of over 20,000 signatures requesting otherwise.
