LEGO Lord of the Rings: The Video Game next?

New figure sets revealed by LEGO at this year’s Toy Fair could offer the first glimpse at the next video games based on the popular toy brand.

The Danish company is using the London event to show off its Lord of the Rings mini-figures, thanks to a licensing deal with Warner Bros – as reported by MCV’s sister site Toy News last month.

Given that Warner’s first Hobbit film is due this Christmas and the publisher owns LEGO developer Traveller’s Tales, it’s not too difficult to see where this partnership is heading.

There are also new products based on Marvel superheroes such as Hulk, Spider-Man and Captain America on the way, coinciding rather nicely with upcoming Marvel flicks, The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man. Why should the DC Super Heroes have all the LEGO fun?

Speaking of which, let’s not forget that the first confirmation of LEGO Batman 2: Super Heroes was given away by the new DC toysets – several weeks ahead of Warner’s official announcement.
