Lenovo introduces gaming laptops, desktop PC for India market

Identifying gaming as a high potential space in India, Lenovo has introduced a couple of gaming laptops and its CES-award winning Horizon 27 desktop in the country.

The 15.6-inch, Intel Core i7 and Windows 8 powered IdeaPad Y510p packs in Nvidia Geforce GT 750M 2 GB dual graphics and is priced Rs 69,990.

We are happy to enter the gaming sphere with a complete portfolio of gaming machines that cater to both individuals and families. Lenovo is fostering its growth in the PC+ era through these multi-media devices that will add a new dimension to our existing portfolio of consumer products and redefine the concept of gaming in India,” said Shailendra Katyal, Lenovo India’s director of consumer business.

While the Y510p appears to be designed for gaming, the Horizon 27 and IdeapPad Z510 seem more like multimedia PCs that can also do gaming.

Lenovo pegs the Horizon 27 as ‘the world’s first multi-user, multi-touch, multi-mode’ PC, and it comes with ‘hundreds’ of games preloaded. The all-in-one desktop is powered by a 3rd gen Core i7 and an Nvidia Geforce GT 620M GPU and will set you back a cool Rs 1,36,500.

The 15.6-inch IdeapPad Z510, meanwhile, is more modestly priced at Rs 50,990, and comes without most of the bells and whistles you’ll find in the Z510p.
