Lich King sells 2.8 million in 24 hours

Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King sold 2.8 million copies within 24 hours, the publisher revealed.

Wrath of the Lich King beat sales for last year’s WoW expansion The Burning Crusade, which managed 2.4 millions sales in 24 hours in January.

Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime praised the support shown for the title: We’re grateful for the incredible support that players around the world have continued to show for World of Warcraft.

Wrath of the Lich King contains some of the best content we’ve created for the game so far, and we look forward to seeing even more players log in to experience it in the days ahead.”
