Crazy Warner Bros action romp Lollipop Chainsaw will be released in the UK on June 15th, it has been confirmed.
It will launch in North America on June 12th and in Japan on June 14th.
Lollipop Chainsaw is the latest title from cult Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture, whose previous credits include No More Heroes, Killer 7 and Shadows of the Damned.
Its hook is really quite straightforward – kill loads of zombies while playing as a scantily clad cheerleader. It’s a winner.
Andriasang reports that in Japan at least the game will sport different cover art for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well as, bizarrely, different voice actors.
In addition, Eastern gamers will have the choice of choosing the ‘Zaku Zaku’ version that has the option of Japanese or English voiceovers and on and off options for the violence.
“Our exciting partnership with Kadokawa Games allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets,” president of Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Martin Tremblay said of the game last year.
“Grasshopper Manufacture’s games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games.”
