Just hours after streaming film service Netflix launched on both PS3 and Xbox 360 in the UK, rival Lovefilm has reduced the price of its service to undercut it.
As of today a Lovefilm account costs just £4.99 a month in the UK. Before the cut it cost £5.99 – the same price that Netflix went live with this morning.
The service is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and iPad, amongst others.
“Customers tell us they love Lovefilm because of the value, choice and innovation we offer in subscription film and TV entertainment,” Lovefilm CEO Simon Calver stated.
“We offer customers an unparalleled range of titles, including exclusively available blockbusters, with over 70,000 DVDs, Blu-rays, films, TV shows, Video Games and streaming alternatives conveniently available for customers to watch in the location of their choice.
