Mad Catz making Black Ops accessories

Call of Duty: Black Ops will get its own line of branded peripherals after Mad Catz announced a deal with Activision today.

The gaming accessories manufacturer gets global rights to a range of Black Ops products, following its range of Modern Warfare 2 controllers last year.

We are honoured to extend our relationship with the world’s leading video game publisher and look forward to working with the team at Treyarch to create distinctive accessories for the next Call of Duty,” said Mad Catz president and CEO Darren Richardson.

Activision’s head of business development Dave Anderson added: Mad Catz has a history of delivering for the Call of Duty brand, which is why we are excited to work with them again this year on what we expect will be one of the biggest videogame releases of all time.”

Black Ops is currently in development by Treyarch and is scheduled for worldwide release on November 9th.

Mad Catz also confirmed its acquisition of gaming audio headset company Tritton. A number of its employees including CEO Christopher Von Huben will join Mad Catz as part of the deal.

The acquisition of Tritton also significantly enhances Mad Catz’ opportunities in this very attractive market segment,” added Richardson.
