Mass Effect 3 gets Online Pass

EA has confirmed that BioWare’s next sci-fi RPG will continue the publisher’s one-time code strategy.

Anyone that purchases a new copy of Mass Effect 3 will find an Online Pass code, which grants access to the newly-announced Galaxy At War multiplayer mode.

Those who buy a second-hand copy will have to purchase a separate code via Xbox Live or PSN, according to CVG.

Galaxy At War sees gamers playing co-operatively as they try to recapture key territories from enemy forces. Their victories are then incorporated into the single-player campiagn.

2010’s Mass Effect 2 was one of the first titles to use EA’s Online Pass system, along with fellow BioWare RPG Dragon Age: Origins.
