Wilson takes over as EA CEO
The Battlefield publisher has promoted EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson to CEO. EA’s appointment of Wilson ends a six-month search for a new executive leader following the departure of John Riccitiello in March.
Wilson joined EA in 2000 and has held various positions within the company including executive producer of the FIFA?franchise. He has also worked on the publisher’s Asia Online Publishing Group.
Most recently, he was executive vice president of EA Sports and digital platform Origin.
EA board executive chairman Larry Probst said: I am convinced that Andrew was an inspired choice by our board, and one I expect the team at EA will enthusiastically support.

Former Sega CEO to lead new capita venture
Mike Hayes is to spearhead Mercia Fund Management’s new digital and e-commerce division. Hayes will lead the new venture capital fund, which will focus on offering investment opportunities to games studios and digital media firms.
He has a background in interactive business with over 23 years experience. Hayes joined Sega in 2004 as managing director and quickly became president of the console manufacturer, transforming the firm into a multi-platform publisher.

I look forward to working with the MFM team where my main focus is to build a portfolio of digital media, gaming and e-commerce EIS and Seed EIS investments.”
Nvidia appoints CFO
The chipmaker has appointed Colette Kress as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Nvidia’s appointment of Kress ends its two-year search for a new CFO.
Kress is a 24-year veteran of the technology industry having held similar positions at Microsoft and Cisco. In the new role, she will report to Nvidia president and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang.
