Microsoft-owned studio Mojang has announced Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition for release later this year.
The unveiling of the latest edition of the hit sandbox title came via MineCon 2015 in London over the past weekend, where thedeveloper confirmeda beta of the Windows 10 version will launch on July 29th– the same day Microsoft has Windows 10 scheduled for general availability.
All20m owners of the PC editionwill be offered a free download of the Windows 10 release, though Mojang states it won’t replace the existing version of Minecraft.
The studio also confirmed Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition multiplayer would support cross-play with Xbox Live and Pocket Edition communities.
