MS confirms Kinect launch titles

ORIGINAL STORY: Platform holder Microsoft has confirmed that there are 17 titles ready to arrive alongside its motion-sensing camera Kinect on November 4th.

Microsoft’s four first party titles leads the line-up, which also includes four fitness games (five in the UK – see below), two dancing titles and a film licence.

Note too that the total number is just one shy of the total number of titles available at the launch of Xbox 360. It’s also far ahead of the five boxed titles Sony had on the shelf for the launch of Move last month.

However, treat the list with a pinch of salt for now. Microsoft has told MCV that the final UK launch line-up will be announced later today.

Nonetheless, here is Major Nelson’s complete list:

Kinect Adventures (Microsoft)
Kinectimals (Microsoft)
Kinect Sports (Microsoft)
Kinect Joy Ride (Microsoft)
Game Party: In Motion (Warner Bros)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (EA)
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved (Ubisoft)
Dance Central (MTV)
EA Sports Active 2 (EA)
The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout (THQ)
DanceEvolution (Konami)
Zumba Fitness (Majesco)
MotionSports (Ubisoft)
DECA Sports Freedom (Hudson Soft)
Adrenaline Misfits (Konami)
Fighters Uncaged (Ubisoft)
Sonic Free Rider (Sega)

UPDATE:
The UK launch line-up has finally gone live. Three titles are included which aren’t seen in the US selection – Get Fit With Mel B (Black Bean), Dance Paradise (Mindscape) and Crossboard 7 (Konami).

DECA Sports Freedom is not included in the UK line-up, however.

This means that over a quarter of the UK’s launch selection are fitness games and three are dancing games.

The line-up of games we are launching along with Kinect delivers an astonishing range of experiences and entertainment which can be enjoyed by everyone,” Microsoft’s VP of Iinteractive entertainment business for EMEA Chris Lewis stated.

Kinect creates a more natural and responsive experience for people of all interests and skill levels. That’s why we are so excited to offer people something truly unique that exists nowhere else.”
