MW2 is 2009s entertainment champ

Having shattered most the game industry’s records upon its release last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has also emerged as the overall UK entertainment champ of 2009.

The ERA estimates that the game sold 2,926,637 units in the few weeks in enjoyed on the market before the close of the year. This puts it way ahead of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which sold 2,193,700 copies on DVD in ’09.

Games perform strongly in the annual listing, with FIFA 10 claiming third spot and Wii Sports Resort finishing in seventh.
