New digital games publisher emerges

Industry veteran Charlie Barrett has formed a new company that aims to break into digital distribution.

Digital Game Factory is a new publisher that focuses on downloadable titles. It works with indie developers looking for a route into the market and publishers that have yet to set up their own digital offering.

DGF’s games can be found on leading platforms such as Steam, Direct2Drive, Amazon, Impulse, Metaboli, GoG.com, Green Man Gaming and Ztorm.

Barrett himself has more than a decade of experience working with downloadable games. He most recently worked on Kalypso Media’s digital games team, which was nominated for an MCV Award earlier this year.

After 13 years working in the category, I decided it was time to set up my own digital publishing business,” Barrett told MCV. Why digital? Because it’s areally dynamic, ever-changing category.

The opportunity of working with a range of respected publishers, developers and digital platforms is one I don’twant to miss.”
