New Transformers game breaks cover

Publisher Activision has officially announced its licensed video game counterpart to Paramount’s upcoming summer movie release Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The game, which is being developed by High Moon Studios, tells a prequel narrative of the events that lead up to the movie itself.

A key new feature is Stealth Force which allows players to transform into a third mode that combines the weapons of a robot with the manoeuvrability of vehicles. Locations include a South American jungle, a Siberian military facility and Detroit.

We couldn’t be more excited to expand on the epic movie universe in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon game, and allow fans to experience the gripping events and backstories that occur right before the upcoming film,” Activision’s head of marketing for licensed properties Paul Wright stated.

The immensely talented group at High Moon Studios are huge fans of the property, and they are thrilled to unveil some new characters from the movie while introducing Stealth Force gameplay that lets players convert to a third form beyond robot and vehicle modes to defeat their enemies in more ways than ever before.”

The game will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 around the same time as the film. Behaviour Interactive is developing the Wii, DS and 3DS versions.
