Sony is reportedly looking to utilize its acquisition of cloud gaming service Gaikai for its next Playstation console.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Sony’s next console will bring backwards compatibility for PS3 games via cloud-based streaming; stating that the firm is "investing heavily" in preparing Gaikai’s technology for the PS4.
The report matches up with rumours from last year that claimed Sony was looking into a cloud-based technology for running PS3 titles on its latest hardware.
Sony also reportedly plans to unveil an upgraded camera for its PlayStation Move controller and a new DualShock controller.
Sony is set to unveil what most believe will be the Playstation 4 at an event in New York City this Wednesday, February 20th.
