No more Wii for No More Heroes

Wii’s hardcore gaming credentials have taken another knock with the news that one of its leading mature brands is unlikely to appear again on the system.

No More Heroes, a title from Goichi Suda’s Grasshopper Manufacture, is one of the leading hardcore titles on the system and a sequel is currently in development.

However, Suda 51 told Edge: I really want to make No More Heroes a big franchise and with this second episode have bigger success. I’m putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there’s a lot of potential.

I think this is the last No More Heroes that is going to be developed on Wii. To expand it to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we’ve done everything we can with it now.”

A title such as No More Heroes immediately seems like a good fit for Xbox 360’s userbase, though the Japanese credentials of PS3 could be more appealing to its developers.
