Publisher Nordic Games has significantly bolstered its brand portfolio, after acquiring ten former THQ properties.
The firm bought Darksiders, Red Faction, Stuntman, Full Spectrum Warrior, Destroy All Humans, MX vs ATV, Supreme Commander, Frontlines, Juiced and Titan Quest in a $4.9m deal.
Nordic Games sales and marketing director Nik Blower said the firm has been looking at the THQ IP since January, but added it’s still too early to talk about new products.
This is our biggest acquisition to date and as such it will take some time to adjust and make plans accordingly,” he told MCV.
We were able to see the huge amount of potential in the IPs that THQ owned. We began our analysis of the portfolio in January and undertook a large amount research into the properties.
This acquisition will be no effect on our existing line-up. Everything will continue as before with a lot of exciting releases ahead of us."
Elsewhere, 505 Games acquired THQ’s Drawn to Life IP for $301,000, while Borderlands developer Gearbox snapped up the Homeworld licence for $1.35m.
