Nordic ready for 360 and PS3

We Sing publisher Nordic Games is branching out onto HD consoles, Wii U and digital platforms.

And it has given itself the challenge of embracing these formats by the end of next year.Nordic says it willdabble in selling downloadable content over Xbox Live and PSN, both onits own franchises and the IP it obtained after acquiring
publishers JoWood and DreamCatcher.

For the Xbox 360 and PS3, we can do a lot more in terms of the consoles’ processing power and things we’ve previously been restricted by,” Nordic’s sales and marketing director Nik Blower told MCV. "It gives us the chance to do more things with the IP we already have.

Obviously this also gives us the opportunity to sell downloadable content which has previously been a difficult proposition for Wii.”

But Nordic is providing ongoing support for Wii, with both We Sing Pop and We Sing ‘80s due for release early next year.Wii karaoke series We Sing has sold over one million units to date.

Blower added: We’re still on Wii and still very much believe in it, but of course it’s a declining market so we realise we can’t be there for the long term. This is why We Sing makes a lot of sense for Wii U. We’re going to try and be there when the doors open on the console. And we can be on all those platforms in the way and shape we want to by the end of next year.”
