Now Amazon slashes the price of Wii U by £50

Another leading UK retailer has significantly discounted the Wii U.

Amazon has cut 50 off both the Wii U 32GB Premium Black machine and the 8GB Basic Pack, meaning they now retail at 249 and 199 respectively.

Also of note is the surprisingly low trade-in prices Amazon are offering to pay consumers who wish to offload their machines. It will buy a Premium for just 68.50 and the Basic for 55.

Retailer Asda revealed similar Wii U discounts earlier this month.

It remains unclear whether these are retail-led promotions designed to shift stock or instead officially sanctioned price reductions from Nintendo UK.
