Nvidia Shield finally priced and dated

Upcoming Android console and PC gaming streaming device Nvidia Shield has been given an official release date.

The handheld will cost $350 in the US and be released at some point in June.

Shield has two main functions – it’s a fully operable Android gaming device and will also stream PC games for those running a compatible GTX 600 series GPU on their home machine.

Note that the PC streaming tech will be supplied in beta form only for the launch.

It will come with Android Jelly Bean pre-installed and 16GB of internal flash memory. A MicroSD slot allows for further memory expansion.

Next month, incidentally, will also see the release of the Ouya Android console. Gamestick is due out in the near future as well.

Pre-orders for Shield will go live on Nvidia’s website on May 20th.
