Ouya Kickstarter exclusive edition and Vevo music video deal revealed

Ouya’s Kickstarter has surpassed the $6m mark entering the homestretch, and the creators aren’t about to let it finish with a whisper.

The company has announced a new Kickstarter-exclusive edition Ouya console for those who plunk down $140 or higher for the campaign.

The console comes in a darker colour scheme, and includes a matching controller with the four main buttons labeled o, u, y, and a.

The update also has word that the console has struck a partnership deal with Vevo to package a high definition music videos service with the console.

"I am thrilled to tell you today that Vevo is committed to launch with Ouya when it comes to market in March 2013," stated Michael Cerda, SVP of Product and Technology at Vevo. "Through this partnership, we will bring our rich catalog of over 50,000 high definition music videos and new, original programming from more than 11,000 artists to Ouya’s groundbreaking new gaming console. We support and share Ouya’s vision that the future lies in being open and accessible for users looking for high quality entertainment experiences."

Currently, the Kickstarter has brought in $6.26m with still six days remaining.
