Electronics manufacturer Panasonic has landed an exclusive Blu-ray deal that it hopes will win it vital market share this Q4.
The company will be offering free copies of the original Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray when consumers purchase any one of a select range of Blu-ray players.
The deal coincides with the long-awaited release of all six Star Wars movies on Blu-ray on September 12th. The deal will terminate on December 31st.
Panasonic employed a similar strategy last year when it partnered with 20th Century Fox for the release of Avatar. That time Panasonic actually secured a limited period of exclusivity.
Here are all the times included in the deal:
- Blu-ray Players: BDT110, 210, 310, PWT500
- Recorders: BWT700 and BWT800
- Blu-ray Home Theatre systems: BTT270, BTT262, BTT370, BTT362, BTT775, BFT800
