Retailer GAME is returning to its Play&Trade offer that allows gamers to buy one of a selection of titles and trade it back at a guaranteed rate.
The net result is that each game will, in the long run, only cost £5, with the remaining value returned in the fork of store credit.
The titles included in the current offer are Call of Juarez: The Cartel (360/PS3), Dirt 3 (360/PS3), Fear 3 (360), Hunted: The Demon’s Forge (PS3), UFC Trainer (Wii), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Wii), Cars (DS) and Art Academy (DS).
Games must be returned by August 12th.
“We know gamers want to be able to play the most popular games around whilst getting great value for money which is why our trade-in mechanic works so well,” GAME’s head of UK PR Neil Ashurst stated.
“Hugely popular with customers, this £5 play now/trade later deal is a fantastic way for customers to experience their favourite games for less.”

This is treat for the customer but financial suicide for GAME. customer buys a game for £40 then plays it for 4 days and gets £35 trade for it GAme have to put it out at £37.99 pre-owned. 7 days after release the new game is reduced by supermarkets and amazon to £30 (this happens with every title). No-one will buy a pre-owned game for £38 when it is new for £30. 2 weeks after release game always reduce the new prices to £25. The pre-owned version normally still retails at £38. Then they realise the difference and have to reduce the pre-owned to below what they paid for it. Where is the business sense.
