First of all we get a numbered Mario Kart sequel, and now this. It’s a crazy world we live in.

Speaking in Japan, The Pokemon Company has surprised by fans by not simply announcing a colour-themed sequel to Pokemon White/Black, but instead revealing an actual ‘proper’ numbered sequel.

Both Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 are due for simultaneous release in Japan in June.

A US release has been confirmed, though not dated. And of course we’re still waiting for information about Europe.

Interestingly, the games are not officially 3DS titles. They are DS games, though of course that does mean they will be 3DS compatible.

It is very strange for:
a) it not to be a third colour, but it has been a while
b) the first sequel in the series
c) why is it still on the DS, this would be the perfect title to obliterate Vita sales if it were on the 3DS. Though I imagine that it will still do that in Japan.
