Price drops on Xbox 360 Kinect bundles in Australia

Xbox Australia today announced that it will be lowering the RRP on the Xbox 360 and Kinect bundles by AUD$50 from tomorrow, 15th September.

The new RRP of the 4Gb bundle will be AUD$399 and the 250Gb bundle will go for AUD$499.

Xbox is also releasing a new entry level console (4Gb 360 without Kinect) into the Australian market, which will retail for AUD$249, and will be coming in October.

Andy Coughlin, retail lead for Microsoft Australia, said: "With families gearing up for school holidays they will be looking for ways to keep the kids entertained, and Kinect offers something that parents and their kids can participate in together."

"We are pleased to now offer Xbox 360 and Kinect bundles at new lower prices, meaning Kinect and Xbox have never been more affordable."

This price drop, while modest, comes after some speculation about the possibility of Microsoft lowering its price to compete with the new aggressive PS3 price point.

The price drop is only for the Australian region, and does not include New Zealand.
