Prince Harry: Rubbish at exams, great at video games

EA’s FIFA series has been name-dropped by Prince Harry in a range of interviews made public following his return from serving in Afghanistan.

Admitting that he struggled at school, despite being bankrolled through Ludgrove Prep School and Eton College, Harry never sparkled in written exams.

But he reckons he’s a dab hand at FIFA.

You can ask the guys: I thrash them at FIFA the whole time,” he told The Daily Mail. Exams were always a nightmare, but anything like kicking a ball around or playing PlayStation – or flying – I do generally find a little bit easier than walking, sometimes."

The frisky Royal less impressively also alluded to the belief that his skills on the console have helped him develop as a soldier and helicopter pilot.

It’s a joy for me because I’m one of those people who loves playing PlayStation and Xbox,” he added. So with my thumbs I like to think that I’m probably quite useful.”

Elsewhere in the interviews he also hints at having killed enemies in Afghanistan. While this shouldn’t be a huge shock – the armed forces are fundamentally about killing, after all – this could potentially be an awkward headline waiting to happen for the games industry.
