PS Vita 2000 features micro USB port for smartphone chargers

The new PlayStation Vita model features a micro USB port that supports charging the handheld using standard smartphone cables.

Sony president Shuhei Yoshida posted a photo on Twitter showing off the PS Vita 2000’s new addition.

You’ll be glad: when using a PS Vita 2000, it can be charged [with a] smartphone Micro USB,” Yoshida stated.

Both Nintendo and Microsoft had their own ‘unifying technology’ moments earlier this week as well – perhaps the beginnings of a welcome trend for consumers.

The Vita 2000 line was announced last month ahead of Tokyo Game Show, and launched in Japan last week. Sony has yet to officially mention anything regarding a western release for the device.
