Quarter of Ubisoft sales come from casual titles

The North American president of Ubisoft has revealed that casual games were responsible for 25 per cent of the firm’s $1.5 billion revenue for fiscal year 2007-2008.

CasualGaming.biz reports that Laurent Detoc said: "[Casual has been] a good opportunity for us.

"People want games that are more accessible and less intimidating. We have been exploring a lot in that space and we think we will have an advantage as that group gets bigger."

In an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle, Detoc added that Ubisoft is having to compensate casual titles with bigger marketing campaigns to make sure they reach a wide audience.
