Rise of Nightmares receives age rating in Australia

Sega Australia Pty Ltd has today confirmed that its hyper-violent Kinect title ‘Rise of Nightmares’ has received an MA15+ age rating in Australia.

The Australian Classification Board has deemed the game suitable for those 15 years and over with consumer advice of Strong Horror Violence, Blood and Gore.

After playing Rise of Nightmares briefly at E3, it certainly appeared to be a title walking very close to the line in terms of acceptability for an Australian audience, which refuses classification on any title deemed unsuitable for minors.

Sega Australia managing director Darren Macbeth has said: "Rise of Nightmares offers a truly mature experience for the Kinect and SEGA are excited to be at the forefront of delivering a fresh alternative to the older Kinect audience."

Sega Australia have confirmed to MCV Pacific that no edits or alterations were made to Rise of Nightmares prior to its classification submission.
