Sony considering ‘UMD conversion program’ for PS Vita

We know that PS Vita is compatible with most digital PSP games, but Sony says it may also have a solution for those who own UMD versions of some titles.

Destructoid reports that Sony says that they’re considering some kind of program to offer special download versions as replacements”.

There are no other details available.

Back in September 2009 Sony announced details of its ‘solution’ to the problem of users with a UMD game collection who wanted to upgrade to the ill-fated, digital-only PSPgo.

It was called PSPgo rewards and offered buyers the chance to download three free full game downloads providing they were able to register for the offer on their older, UMD-capable machines.

However, the much-rumoured UMD adapter for the console never materialised.
