Sony DADC centre torched in London riots

Though Enfield largely escaped the widespread violence and looting that swept the UK last night, the Sony DADC distribution centre in the town was set alight.

There are not believed to have been any injuries as a result of the attack.

The significant blaze is still being tackled by fire fighters. This morning black smoke could be seen bellowing across the district, with the M25 brought to a standstill as observers slow to observe the scenes.

Sony has said that deliveries of all sorts of consumer products are likely to be affected as it waits to access the damage to the multi-story 20,000 square meter complex.

"There will likely be some impact on deliveries," spokesperson Yoko Yasukochi stated. "We cannot determine the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage yet because it’s not possible to enter the building.”
