Sony "temporarily postpones" new PlayStation Store rollout

Technical problems with the new-looks PlayStation Store yesterday have lead to its postponement in the UK.

The new-look digital storefront, which was demoed only last week, was supposed to roll out yesterday. And it did, for a while at least. However, a host of complaints from users including problems with account authentication and random crashes led to the update being pulled and the PlayStation Store reverted back to its previous design.

Now its deployment has been delayed entirely in a number of countires, including the UK.

The phased launch of the new PlayStation Store has been temporarily postponed in some territories as teething issues related to the global roll-out of the Store are being addressed and resolved,” a statement issued to MCV reads.

It is really important to us that the best possible Store experience is delivered and we appreciate your patience as we resolve these matters.

The new PlayStation Store is now live in the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, UAE, Kuwait , Qatar, India, Israel, Slovenia, Hungary, Turkey, Greece and South Africa.”
