South Park: The Stick of Truth debuts at No.1

The industry this morning is totally respecting the authoritah of Ubisoft’s South Park: The Stick of Truth after it claimed the charts top spot.

The Obsidian-developed title is the first RPG to debut at No.1 in the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 since 2013’s Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.

Xbox 360 claimed 53 per cent of the game’s overall sales, leaving PS3 with 41 per cent and PC six per cent. Aside from Minecraft, it’s also the only title in the Top Ten without a release on next-gen consoles.

Last week’s No.1 Thief has to settle for second place followed by Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (3rd), The LEGO Movie Videogame (4th) and FIFA 14 (5th).

Namco Bandai’s Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures manages 21st in its first week.
