Sports Interactive raises £600,000 for charity

Developer Sports Interactive has donated over £600,000 to the international War Child charity.

Every time a Football Manager simulation game is sold, Sports Interactive gives 10p to the charity. It has been helping the charity for more than six years.

The latest figure of £600,000 was revealed by studio director Miles Jacobson OBE on his blog. The news comes as Jacobson goes on a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo to work with War Child.

Jacobson said: “What I’ll be seeing out there is some of the projects that War Child have in the country such as schools that they’ve set up, a community based child protection system, a project to improve the care and protection for children and women who are victims of sexual and gender based violence and forced labour, a night ambulance project and many more.”

War Child works in Iraq, Afghanistan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and more.

Football Manager is published by Sega. The popular sports management series is available on PC, Mac, PSP and iOS devices.
