Summer Games Done Quick raises $700k for Doctors Without Borders

Last week’s online speed run fundraising event Summer Games Done Quick received $713k in donations, organizers Speed Demos Archive have announced.

The event’s selected charity, Doctors Without Borders, will receive 100 per cent of the proceeds.

SGDQ was just the latest in the budding Games Done Quick campaign, a series of events live streaming talented and dedicated gamers ripping through titles such as Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy VI and other classics as fast as they can for great causes.

Including last week’s figures, Games Done Quick to date has raised in excess of $2.75m.

"To see what we have been able to accomplish in just four years since then is nothing short of incredible,” SDA stated on its Twitter account. We love you all!"
