Tak Fujii departs Konami

Konami producer Tak Fujii has announced his exit from the company.

Fujii departs following nearly two decades with the firm, having begun his career at Konami working in audio and localization.

It’s been great 20 years of creation. Thanks for all who supported, loved my titles. Farewell and may the extreeeeemeness be with KONAMI,” Fujii posted on Twitter.

The extreme bit is in reference to Fujii’s Ninety-Nine Nights II presentation at E3 2010, which both baffled the heads and winning the hearts of internet folk near and far. Fujii announced last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer, prompting an outpouring of support from fans as well as nearly every corner of the industry.

Fujii states that he’s undecided” about plans for the immediate future, but – for what it’s worth – the now ex-Konami producer has updated his Twitter description to include his LinkedIn page.
