Tecmo Koei CEO to resign

The CEO of Tecmo Koei has announced that he is to resign from his position at the end of November.

Andriasang reports that, effective immediately, Yoichi Erikawa has become the publisher’s president and CEO. Current CEO Kenji Matsubara will remain as a director until the end of the month when he will leave the company.

His decision to quit, which is reportedly owing to personal reasons, was announced at a board meeting.

Erikawa was one of the co-founders of Koei along with his wife Keiko in 1978. Going under the name of Kou Shibusawa, he is credited as the producer on a number of Koei’s titles.

He will take charge of both Tecmo Koei Holdings and Tecmo Koei Games.

The moves come following a 27.5 per cent drop in earnings year-on-year at the publisher over the last six months.
