Microsoft’s strategic shift regarding Xbox One and Kinect will only stretch so far.
The platform holder announced earlier this week that Xbox One will now be able to function without Kinect being connected. The firm had previously said that the console wouldn’t function unless the motion camera.
But calls for the Xbox One to be released without a bundled Kinect camera – and in turn with a lower RRP – have been dismissed.
“We have no plans for that,” Major Nelson confirmed on Reddit when asked about just such possibility. “We 100 per cent believe in Kinect. It's got some amazing potential that will be unlocked with this new generation.”
