Five female golfers from the Ladies Professional Golf Association are set to star alongside Tiger Woods in EA’s annual golf game for the first time.
2012 Rolex Player of the Year Stacy Lewis leads the roster, while players will be free to create their own female golfers and compete in the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
It’s a welcome step forward for the brand and a deserved boost to the strong female game in the US, where the professional female tour is incredibly popular.
The news comes as EA confirms a March 28th release date for the game in the UK, as well as the return of Kinect and Move functionality.
New game mode Legends of the Majors allows players to relive historic scenes and compete against some of the game’s biggest players such as Seve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Snead and Lee Trevino.
It’s also the first time the game has enjoyed the licenses of all four golfing majors – the Masters Tournament, US Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
