Q4 2016 is increasingly looking like the probable release date for Titanfall 2.
Polygon reports that a press release from toy firm McFarlane has confirmed a partnership with developer Respawn to make a line of Titanfall 2 toys due for release in winter 2016. The toys will be seven inches tall.
"This is a perfect fit,” McFarlane CEO Todd McFarlane said. McFarlane was created so I could make cool stuff just like this. Without saying too much about the new game… You’re not going to believe where we can take this."
In a statement to GameSpot, publisher EA added: MacFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn.”
The coy response seems a little mute at this point, however, with a long trail of breadcrumbs pointing the way toward Titanfall 2’s arrival.
A year ago EA itself teased a multiplatform release for the shooter, saying that it was shedding the platform exclusivity previously described by EA as a tactical opportunity”. Respawn, however, has claimed that the Xbox agreement was made without its knowledge.
Respawn itself confirmed Titanfall 2 last March and just this week a single-player mode was confirmed for the game. Remember too that a number of Titanfall smartphone and tablet games are also in the works via a partnership with Nexon.
