Titanfall holds onto No.1 in slowest week of 2014 so far

EA’s blockbuster Titanfall held onto the top spot with little effort as not a single new release entered this week’s chart.

Titanfall takes its third consecutive UKIE gFk Chart-Track All Formats No.1 and fourth chart-topping performance since its launch back in March on Xbox One and PC.

Elsewhere in the chart and EA’s dominance continued as 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil made it two weeks at No.2.

EA now accounts for five of the Top Ten best-selling games as Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Battlefield 4 round out the top ofthis week’s chart at No.9 and No.10 respectively.

There were just two new releases at retail – Vita RPG Demon Gaze and Namco Bandai’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle and neither managed to position in this week’s chart.

And it certainly showed as retailer suffered their worst week of 2014 so far. The value of the market fell 34 per cent to 7.9m as just 306,417 games were sold – a 34 per cent drop off from last week’s 11.7m.
