Thillmann’s career began outside of games, where she spent a substantial amount of time working in large multinational eCommerce and online gambling businesses, honing her skills and experience in fraud prevention and payments.
With this as her foundation, Thillmann says it was a ‘natural fit’ to then move into the games industry.
She joined Green Man Gaming two years ago – she adds: not really knowing the difference between MMO and FPS”. Since then her understanding of the business – and passion for gaming – has flourished.
I’m proud to say I’m now the owner of a reasonably filled Steam account, as my gaming knowledge has expanded dramatically,” Thillmann says.
This is along with my love of games, which I have always had, since the Tetris days on GameBoy.”
Thillmann’s tenure at Green Man Gaming has seen a number of new payment methods introduced, including Bitcoin, alongside some major changes to the online retailer’s fraud screening tools.
All in all, Thillman says she is most proud of the safety and customer experience the site continues to provide to users.
