Top 100 Women in Games: Geraldine Cross

Cross’ games career started in 2004, when she joined Blitz Games in Leamington to establish and lead their ‘People Strategy’.

More than 10 years later she is still passionate about the industry and developing people.

From the outset of her career, Cross was hooked by what attracts and retains most people in games – working with amazing, creative, talented people, the strong bonds and team spirit.

Cross is currently involved in project work for The Next Gen Skills Academy.

Her goal with the NGSA is to further support the growth of the talent pipeline into games through the provision of new routes such as games-specific higher-level apprenticeships, and also to support outreach projects into schools.

Cross has previously been recognised as an Employer of Choice, awarded the West Midlands ICT Excellent in Skills Award in recognition of the creation of the in-house learning facility Blitz Academy and been the recipient of the Edge Award for the training and development of young people.
