Two Netflix anime series are getting video game spin-offs

Bandai Namco has announced two new games based on Netflix exclusive anime series.

Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time is a 3D beat ’em up pencilled in for a release on PS4 and PC in early 2018. It is being developed by Studio Trigger, which is connected to Neon Evangelion creator Gainax.

The anime is based on a short film released in 2013, a sequel to which was crowdfunded in 2015.

Having been inspired by a famous witch named Shiny Chariot, an ordinary girl named Atsuko (Akko) Kagari enrolls at Luna Nova Magical Academy, a prestigious school for young girls training to become witches,” the blurb says.

Before starting summer vacation, Akko and her new classmates find out about an inexplicable phenomenon at Luna Nova caused by the Seven Wonders, which has been passed down for several centuries. Now it’s up to Akko as she takes on the adventure to unravel the mystery surrounding the Seven Wonders.”

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia, meanwhile, is an action adventure title. It’s due out on PS4 only in early 2018.

The series began life as a comic in 2012. An anime debuted in 2014 and is now eclusive to Netflix.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia provides Bandai Namco Entertainment America with a great new series to add to our growing portfolio of world-class anime games,” brand director Dennis Lee said.

We can’t wait for anime lovers and fans of The Seven Deadly Sins to experience this new and exciting franchise.”
